My Journey to Sibuyan Island Philippines

Another virgin island to escape, Yes it is...!! The Sibuyan Island Philippines :)

Sibuyan is a crescent- shape island of Romblon Province, Philippines located in the namesake Sibuyan Sea. it has a total land area of 445 square kilometer (Wikipedia).

You can see also in the Island the Spanish Colonial Historical Church.

 This church believe is the second Oldest Church contracted by Spaniard "Second to St. Nino Church in Cebu" but nobody proved .

*Getting there from Caticlan (Boracay Island)

Sibuyan Island is the perfect Escape from Boracay. The easiest way to get to Sibuyan  from Boracay Island How to get there and how much it will cost you ???? :-?

After spending a few days in Boracay Island and you want to find an escape from the noise, crowds and the hedonism of Boracay, where you can actually feel "relaxed" without pretensions and stay away from the crowd of Tourist.The answer is Sibuyan Island, some tips how to get to another paradise.

Maybe some travelers already heard about this place but only a few dare to adventure there due to its inaccessibility. Some travelers think its difficult and takes a lot of time to travel there, so its usually overlooked. Well, there's easy ways, depend were you coming from, but let me concentrate on the route to take if you are coming from Boracay Island. Via Roxas City, Province of Capiz the best time to start your journey .

From Caticlan Jetty Port (Gateway to Boracay) you leave at around 7pm for the last trip (Van) going to Kalibo and its will cost you Php100 only. Looking for affordable and safe lodge to stay in Kalibo ? no worries about that there's a lot of affordable lodge or Hotel in Kalibo to stay for Over night but i would like to refer the place where i stayed before. The Carillo C9 Hotel, its quite affordable Hotel safe and clean as well.

 As how much it cost ????

Php 350 - for standard room with fan (No Tv) they have also another option if you want air conditioned rooms.

Waking up early in the morning is the way, because the van first trip to Roxas City is around 5am. Riding a tricycle can bring you to the Terminal where the van departing going to Roxas City.

From Kalibo proper to Roxas Terminal its cost Php 120 peso only (1hour/30min) to travel, you will expected to be in the City around 6:30am


From Pueblo Terminal Roxas City Capiz you can ride a tricycle going to Culasi Port one of the gateway going in and out from Sibuyan Island but before riding a tricycle you need to negotiate as well for the Transportation with the driver ... I pay 50peso to Manung Driver :-)

From Pueblo Terminal to Culasi port it takes 30min ride its depend if there is no heavy traffic.

The Culasi Port of Roxas City.

- From their you will ride a motor Banca, its takes 4 to 5 hours of travel before you can see the Virgin Island of Sibuyan.
Motor Banca fee its about 350 per person not Bad .....

After a long time of travel .. witness the majestic beauty of the island .. from the breath taking view of Mt. Guiting - Guiting Natural Part .. its truly called 'PARADISE"

Note: There's a lot of accommodation in the Island , i would refer you to go in Municipality of Cajidiocan were you can found cheap and affordable accommodation for your whole vacation ..

Ms. SuperStar Gemini of Star Cruises bound in Boracay !

The Department of Tourism (DOT) Boracay said the arrival of the Star Cruises SuperStar Gemini Luxury ship signals the start of another busy cruise season for Boracay Island.

"All set for the arrival of SuperStar Gemini cruise ship," DOT-Boracay officer-in-charge Artemio Ticas said.
Arriving in Boracay Island at 6 am Thursday (Today), All disembarking passengers will be greeted by the Ati-Atihan tribes.

Tourist will have a memorable holiday experience in their eight hour sightseeing and stroll along the white beach, souvenir hunting, explore and dine in the finest restaurant.

The Superstar Gemini will sail to Xiamen to Keelung, Penghu, Kaohsiung, Taichung, Hongkong, Boracay and Manila. The ship will bring about 1,500 travelers and 935 crew members including 350 Filipinos.

The cross-strait international cruising marks also the first visit to the Philippines of the Superstar Gemini.

The Island of Boracay is also looking ahead for another round of call from Star Cruises international ship a few weeks from now.

Superstar Aquarius, currently homeported in Keelung, Taiwan, will embark on a special eight-day cruise, departing from Kaohsiung on October 29 with stops at Hongkong, Manila, Boracay and arriving in Kota Kinabalu on November 6.

The Star Cruises, the leading cruise line in Asia-Pacific, has been honored as a TTG Travel Awards "Travel Hall of Fame" Inductee for the six year in Bangkok recently.

How to get there ..?

From any point of Panay, Island Aklan, this Natural spot is very accessible to everyone by riding any kind of transport vehicle private or public and simply drop in Cruising Brgy Toledo and Brgy. Laserna.
From Laserna Cruising you will ride a Tricycle or Single Motor bike, as far as i know it take's 15minutes from the main highway when you reach the main Bamboo bridge in Hurom-Hurom Cold Spring.

After crossing the Bamboo Bridge, finally the coldest spring in Aklan welcome you to a crystal clear water, fresh air come from virgin forest.

This place is perfect to everyone who love nature,
Birds, and other natural habitat can you see there also. Picnic, Barkada/Friends outing and other event is also perfect here.

 Having vacation is not bad, its our way of giving time to our selves to relax, refresh..

Boracay Island is located off the Northwest corner of Panay Island, and belong to the Western Visayas Island group or Region VI, of the Philippines. The island is approximately seven kilometers long, dog bone shape Island and being less that 1 Kilometer wide and has a total land area of 10.32 square meters.

The Boracay Island and its beaches have received award from numerous Travel publication and agencies

My new discovery ... my new dish !!

I went to Boracay wet market to buy something, while scrolling the fish and meat section i am thinking what would be my special dish to my "Pangga" .....
Until the girl fish vendor approach me and she said " Sir Fresh Tuna ". i think this is the best option for me to have a fish menu dish for today because we eat  pork meat almost 1 week, so its time to balance our Healthy lifestyle its time to have my experiment :)

I Brought half kilo (Cut in 3slice) Fresh Tuna

Slice Garlic
Buter
Onion leaves
black pepper
Magic Sarap (Philippine style) Sodium Benzoate
Salt

How to Prepare:
First; Marinate Tuna in Garlic, Black pepper and  Magic Sarap
(Leave it in 5-10minutes)
Next;  put Butter in a Hot pan together with Slice Garlic until the garlic roasted
put the slice Tuna and fried until it look like red brown.
In a few minute put the cooked garlic Tuna in a clean plate and serve it presentable :)
